Kelsey + Mark = Wedding

Kelsey and Mark celebrated their HUGE portuguese wedding at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos. Every one of the 300 guest was there to celebrate the couples special day. Sep 4, 2010 was a day of love, laughter and the promise of a beautiful future.

The day was hot. The church’s air conditioning broke the week before, but we were promised that it would be fixed by the day of the wedding. Although it definitely wasn’t hot inside, it also wasn’t cool. The hour-long Catholic wedding did see a few people removing coats, and fanning themselves.  Everyone endured though, to see the couple exchange vows, sing hymns, and finally seal their love with a kiss!   It was a truly beautiful ceremony.

The bridal party was amazing!  Yet again, Jen Sander, of Jenifer Sander Photography  made them treck up and down a mountain for phenomenal shots! Good thing the couple knows what they’re getting into hehe. Jen loves shooting in the rugged outdoors, and mixing the classically beautiful, with the not so perfect environment. The shots she creates, are amazing, and I’m glad to have been a part of  it.  I just feel sorry for the poor women in their high heels hehe.

Either way, the bridal party was amazing!  They didn’t complain once, and laughed and joked throughout the entire bridal party shoot.

The couple’s entrance  into the reception was definitely one of a kind! I loved it, and the guests  loved it too!  The couples entered one at time, the men wearing Sombrero’s and the women holding fans.  They came into the middle  of the dance floor and started dancing in a circle, clapping their hands and stomping their feet…. building up the momentum for Kelsey and Mark’s grand entrance.    The curtain was pulled back, and Kelsey and Mark ran into the room.  Mark was  wearing a full Spanish Matador outfit!!!   The bridal party then did a choreographed dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, ” I like big butts” and “The chicken Dance”  just to name a few!    The guests erupted into cheers, and peels of laughter after it was all done.

The day was definitely filled with love, laughter and the promise of a beautiful future.
